Our PreTeen ministry is for 4th-6th grades and it is a unique opportunity for them to learn who they are in Christ in that very in-between place that they find themselves. What’s really amazing is how these students step up on mission trips and serve in our church as well.

Sunday morning they have a special program at 9:30 am, upstairs in Building C in the preteen room. Then, on Wednesday Night at 6-8pm they have L.I.T. (Leaders in Training), which is a great time of fellowship and growing deeper in what it means to be a Christ follower.  Students who are a part of this group leanr how to share the gospel and go on an annual summer mission trip.  See what some of them said about the 2016 Mission trip:

Awana reaches kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Him. Awana equips ministry leaders and parents to reach and disciple kids who impact their generation with the gospel (visit for more info).

Our Club meets on Sundays from 4:45-6:30 pm and begins Sunday, August 28. Check-in takes place at the Multipurpose Building (MPB). Check our Calendar for Sundays that are on/near holidays to see if we will be meeting. Check-in takes place in Fellowship Hall (lower level Bldg. C)

AWANA Registration is ongoing throughout the year. Bring your student to our Awana Club to register. There will be a registration fee to help cover the cost of supplies: patches, books, etc. Uniform if needed (t-shirt or vest), is an additional cost.

Our success is dependent upon you! If you have a child or children in Awana Club, we need and desire your active participation. Please contact the church office for more information about available positions, 251-3052. In our preschool division, one parent is required to serve in Awana. Class sizes are limited.

Very Important Truths About Life 

Parents of children who are new Christians are contacted about upcoming classes and given the opportunity for their children to attend.

Spring and fall sessions are offered, dates TBA.

Procedure for Security Child Check in System

  • Locate the touch screen monitor located in hallway of Building C or in Preschool Building B Room PS 5.
  • Screen should display number keys and/or Name log-in options.
  • Enter last 4 digits of any phone number the church has in our data base for you or enter your family’s last name.
  • Your family’s name will appear on the screen.
  • If any family information has changed, the parent must proceed to the guest check-in station located in the hallway of Building C.
  • Check on the touch screen which children are present that day.
  • If you have preschool child/children that will stay for Extended Session, select that option.
  • Push “Finish and Print Badge”.
  • Place badge on child/children’s back. Preschool children will have an extra badge for their diaper bag or backpack. 
  • Each parent will take a security code badge that must be presented to his/her child’s teacher upon picking them up from their classroom.

Once the child/children are checked-in, follow these steps:

  • Preschool children will be taken to their classroom by a parent. Preschool classrooms are downstairs in the C Building and in the B Building.  
  • Kindergarten thru 6th Grade can be released at the bottom of the stairs or taken to class by a parent. All K-6th Grade classes are upstairs in the C Building. 
  • When picking child/children up from their classroom, the parent security badge must be shown to the teacher (and match the child’s name badge) before child/children are taken from classroom.
  • If parent does not have security badge, they must proceed to guest check-in station (downstairs in the C Building) where they will be required to show identification. Once ID is verified, then they can proceed to pick up their child/children from their classroom.

Things to Bring…please label everything!

  • Sack Lunch and Snacks for Bus Trip on the Way (Friday)
  • $20-$30 Spending Money for Camp Store (Snacks, Souvenirs, etc.) – optional
  • $10 for Lunch on the Return Bus Trip (put in a separate envelope to be turned in on Monday)
  • Medications to be taken while at camp should be brought in the original bottle and/or container and placed in a clearly labeled zip-lock bag with the student’s name and church info (Lakeview Camp Medical Release/Administration Form is required.)
  • Bible (with your name in it)
  • Pen and/or Pencil and Notebook
  • Comfortable Closed Toe / Athletic Shoes & extra pair of shoes with socks.
  • Clothing for 4 days and 3 nights

             -Casual clothes during the day; shorts are allowed but please be modest. 

             -No halter tops, bare midriffs, bare shoulders, mesh jersey tops, or tank tops, please. 

             -Nice clothes for evening worship; such as jeans, capri pants, skirts and dresses are all ok.

  • Modest Pajamas and a Sweatshirt (to sleep in if you get cold at night)
  • Swimsuit and Cover-Up and Beach Towel (modest one piece for girls, modest trunks for guys, no cut-offs)
  • Pillow and Linens (sheets and blanket) for a twin bed or sleeping bag
  • Bath Towels and Washcloths
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, hairbrush, shampoo, hand/bath soap, deodorant, etc.)
  • Non-perishable snacks in re-sealable containers or zip-lock bags (optional)
  • Flip Flops for Shower
  • Laundry Bag or Pillow Case

June 12-16, 2017 
8:45 am – 12:15 pm

Who: Completed Kindergarten (and must be age 6 before September 1, 2017) – Completed 6th Grade (2016-2017 School Year).  Their class will be the grade level just completed.

What: Galactic Starveyors – Discovering the God of the Universe (Collossians1:15-16)

When: June 12-16, 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 pm each morning

Where: First Baptist Church Pflugerville (Check-in and Pick-up at the Worship Center)

Why: We will encounter amazing and wonderful things designed by a Creator who is even bigger than the vastness of His creation. But the most amazing wonder to be discovered truly boggles the mind. The God who created everything there is—the knowable and the unknowable, the visible and the invisible—wants a relationship with you!

Cost: Free to Every Child

Optional:  T-Shirts and Galactic Starveyors Music CDs will be available for purchase during the week of VBS (while supplies last).

Offerings are collected each day to support Children Mission Projects. Children are encouraged to give to that offering. They can collect spare change or do odd jobs at home to earn extra money for this special offering.

Canned Goods may also be brought for our community Food Pantry.

How can I Register my child?

Option 1: How to Register: Click Here to Register Online

  • Choose the PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION Option on the left side of that page and complete the form.
  • If you register just before you arrive that morning, your child’s information will not be available to their teacher and you will be asked to complete a paper registration form. 

Option 2: 
Offline registration

  1. Visit the Children’s Ministry table in the Mall on Sunday mornings to get a form to complete, or Return a completed form.
  2. Visit the Church Office – Mon-Thurs, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Pre-registration will save you time. On your child’s first day to attend VBS, you can bypass the registration table and go directly to the Check-In station for the grade level your child has just completed.

If you cannot pre-register, it’s not too late! Children may register the first day they attend VBS. Print out the form and turn in the completed form at the Registration Table the first day your child attends. Forms will also be available before VBS each morning. Bring emergency information with you. Our registration form asks for contact phone numbers and health insurance information.

Summer Fun Wednesdays for “BIG” Kids

June 21 • June 28 • July 5 • July 26 • August 2 • August 9

Who:  Kids Completing 1st – 6th Grades (2016-2017 School Year) 

What:  “BIG” kids spend Wednesday mornings doing fun Bible centered activities at the church, bring a sack lunch from home to enjoy, then head out to a fun “outing” away from the church.

When:  June 21, June 28, July 5, July 26, August 2, August 9  ~ 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where:  Drop Off and Pick-Up at First Baptist Church Pflugerville.  Outing locations will vary.

Why:  Summer Fun!

Cost:  $15 Per TKO Day Per Child

How to Register:  Print and fill out form and turn in to the church office along with payment.  Register Early!  Space is Limited!  Registration will be accepted no later

Requirements and Specifics

  • Each child must have a Medical Release/Permission to Participate form on file to participate in and/or be transported for TKO.
  • TKO “BIG” Kids may invite friends if space is available
  • The cost for each TKO day is $15 per child. Sign-up is available for 1 day, some days, or all days. If a child is signed up for all 6 dates the total cost is $90.
  • Sign-up a minimum of one week in advance of activity is required (with payment and registration form).
  • No money or forms will be collected the day of activity.
  • Space is limited.  Registration with payment holds child’s space. Once a class fills, a waiting list will be available.
  • Each child needs to bring a sack lunch including a drink, unless otherwise instructed.
  • Activities are subject to changed, adjusted, or switched without notice, although as much advance notice as possible will be given when a TKO activity changes.

 Requirements and Specifics forBIGKids:

  • Parent participation is needed and required for at least one Bible study TKO day. Contact Bro. John Woods (Children’s Pastor) at to sign-up for a day you can help and let us know if you are available to help transport children. We will need a minimum of 6 adults per day/activity.
  • Bible study is mandatory for child to participate in activity for the day.
  • “Big” kids can bring other spending money at parents’ discretion, but each child will be responsible for his/her own money.
  • Please arrive on time as we will be departing to different sites on indicated days.
  • Please dress modestly and appropriate for each activity.
  • Please note the arrival and pick-up times of each “Big” Kids TKO day may vary , depending on the activity.
