The consecration of Jesus reminds us of what is really important.
(John 12:1-7) Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany where Lazarus was, the one Jesus had raised from the dead. So they gave a dinner for Him there; Martha was serving them, and Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him. Then Mary took a pound of fragrant oil – pure and expensive nard – anointed Jesus’ feet, and wiped His feet with her hair. So the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. Then one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot (who was about to betray Him), said, “Why wasn’t this fragrant oil sold for 300 denarii and given to the poor?” He didn’t say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief. He was in charge of the money bag and would steal part of what was put in it. Jesus answered, “Leave her alone’ she has kept it for the day of My burial. For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.”

A. Are we worth more than Jesus?
B. Mary considered herself a servant to Jesus.
C. Mary considered herself of no value compared to Jesus.
3. The Value of Time
(7-8) Jesus answered, “Leave her alone; she has kept it for the day of My burial. For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.”
(Matthew 28:2) “Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
(Romans 8:38-39) I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!
A. The value of time to Christ followers is that every moment of our future will be spent in the presence of Christ.
B. The value of time to the non-followers is that the clock is ticking and they will soon have NO access to Christ.
The greatest event in all history was the resurrection of Jesus from the grave.
