GOD IS LIKE AN EXCITING BUILDER
God has built a wonderful future for those of us who follow Jesus.
1. A New CITY
(Hebrews 11:8-11) By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a place he was going to receive as an inheritance; he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob. Co-heirs of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
(Hebrews 12:22-23a) You have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God (the heavenly Jerusalem), to myriads of angels in festive gathering, to the assembly of the firstborn whose names have been written in heaven.
(Revelation 21:2-4) I also saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. The I heard a loud voice from the throne: “Look! God’s dwelling is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their dyes. Death will exist no longer; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.
A. In heaven the rules all change.
B. The beauty will be breathtaking.
(Revelation 22:14) “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates.”
2. A New HOUSE
(Psalm 23:6) I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live.
(John 14:2, NIV) In My Father’s house are many rooms.
A. Our Heavenly father also has a house.
B. We belong there, and are welcome there.
3. A New ROOM
(John 14:2, NIV) “In My Father’s house are many rooms, if it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.”
A. Jesus has gone there to prepare a room for each of us.
B. Jesus reminds us to keep our priorities straight.
(Luke 10:20) “Rejoice that your names are written in Heaven.”
4. A New BODY
(1 Corinthians 15:40) There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is different from that of the earthly ones.
(Philippians 3:20-21) Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of His glorious body, by the power that enables Him to subject everything to Himself.
A. Your current body will be totally gone.
B. You will be given a brand new body!
C. Your new body will be like Jesus’ new body!
