Praising and Praying Across America
(1 Timothy 2:1-4) First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
MODELS
Let’s pray that ALL of our leaders be Christian models (including ourselves)
(Colossians 1:9-12) For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy giving thanks to the Father who has enabled you to share in the saints inheritance in the light.
1. The Will of God (9)
(9) We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will…
(Jeremiah 29:11) “I know the plans I have fore you… plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
A. God has a plan for each of our lives.
B. All we have to do is find His plan.
(Jeremiah 29:12-14) “You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you”.
C. Finding God’s plan for life involves praying.
D. Finding God’s plan for life involves investigating.
(Jeremiah 29:12) “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you.”
2. The Walk of God (10)
(10) That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God.
A. Worthy of Him.
B. Pleasing to Him.
C. Fruitful for Him.
D. Growing in Him.
3. The Way of God (11)
(11) May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy.
A. Strengthened with power.
B. For Endurance and patience.
C. WITH JOYFULNESS
Praising God is absolutely the most joyful of all interactions with God.
