(2 Thessalonians 3:1-5) Finally, pray for us, brothers, that the Lord’s message may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do what we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to God’s love and Christ’s endurance.

TRUE CALM

Those who follow Jesus can experience true calm in the midst of life’s chaos.

1. The Lord is Faithful to You

1. Jesus EXCELS in faithfulness.

(2-3) [Pray] that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not all have faith. But the Lord IS FAITHFUL.

(2 Timothy 2:13) If we are faithless, HE REMAINS FAITHFUL, for He cannot deny Himself.

1. Jesus is EXTREME in faithfulness.
2. Jesus is the DEFINITION of faithfulness.

2. The Lord Will Strengthen You

(3) But the Lord is faithful; He will STRENGTHEN [you].

1. He strengthens you by supporting you.
2. He strengthens you by stabilizing you.

(Psalm 40:1-2) I waited patiently for the Lord, and He turned to me and heard my cry for help. He brought me up from a desolate pit, out of the muddy clay, and set my feet on a rock, making my steps secure.

3. The Lord Will Protect You

(3) The Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and GUARD you from the evil one.

1. Jesus has power over the evil forces in this world.
2. Jesus has power over the evil “one” in this world.

(John 10:11-12, 14-15) “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired man… leaves them and runs away when he sees a wolf coming. The wolf then snatches and scatters them… I am the good shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me…. I lay down My life for the sheep.”
