Our PreTeen ministry is for 5th-6th grades and it is a unique opportunity for them to learn who they are in Christ in that very in-between place that they find themselves. What’s really amazing is how these students step up on mission trips and serve in our church as well.
Sunday morning Preteen Grow Groups meet at 9:15 a.m., upstairs in the Preteen Room (Bldg. C, Room 20-22). Then, on Wednesday Night at 6:15-8pm they have L.I.T. (Leaders in Training), which is a great time of fellowship and growing deeper in what it means to be a Christ follower. Students who are a part of this group learn how to share the gospel and participate in an annual summer mission trip or project. See what some of them said about the 2018 local missions experiences:
Awana reaches kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Him. Awana equips ministry leaders and parents to reach and disciple kids who impact their generation with the gospel (visit awana.org for more info).
Awana Clubs meet on Sundays during the school year. Check-in takes place at Building C in the Fellowship Hall.
Age 2 – Grade 6 Awana Clubs meet from 4:30-6:15 P.M.:
Puggles: 2 years old – requires parental participation
Cubbies: 3 & 4 years old – requires parental participation
Sparks: Kindergarten – Grade 2
Truth & Training (T&T): Grades 3-6
Trek: Grades 7-8
Journey: Grades 9-12
AWANA Registration is ongoing throughout the year. Bring your student to our Awana Club to register. There will be a registration fee to help cover the cost of supplies: patches, books, etc. Uniforms if needed (t-shirt or vest), are an additional cost.
Our success is dependent upon you! If you have a child or children in Awana Club, we need and desire your active participation. In our preschool division, one parent is required to serve in Awana. Class sizes are limited. [/expand]
Last Awana meeting for 2020 will be in person on campus December 13. Check in at Building C at 4:45 p.m.

Welcome! We are looking forward to a great week of Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church in Pflugerville. VBS 2021 is headed to present-day Israel where discovery awaits at Destination Dig. Kids will unearth more than dirt as they dig up exciting evidence that proves biblical events were not just stories. As junior archaeologists, kids will explore real-life archaeological finds that have helped to uncover the truth about Jesus! Along the way, they’ll discover the truth of Jeremiah 29:13, that God reveals Himself to us when we seek and search for Him with all our hearts.
This summer’s VBS will return to an IN-PERSON ONLY format. Mask wearing and social distancing will NOT be enforced. If a child brings a mask, it will be the responsibility of the child (not of the teacher) to wear the mask. Please carefully consider this policy before registering your child. However, many precautions will be taken to protect participants from COVID-19. The sanctuary, classrooms and bathrooms will be disinfected daily. Hand sanitizer will be readily available. Snack and drinks, which are served outdoors, will be provided in pre-packaged, single serving containers. Craft classes will be broken down into smaller classes than usual and craft supplies will also be pre-packaged in single units.
