Our PreTeen ministry is a unique opportunity for preteens to learn who they are in Christ in that very in-between place that they find themselves. What’s really amazing is how these students step up on mission trips and serve in our church as well.

Sunday morning Preteen Grow Groups meet at 9:30 a.m., upstairs in the Preteen Room (Bldg. C, Room 20-22). Then, on Wednesday Night at 6:15-8pm L.I.T. (Leaders in Training), offers a great time of fellowship and growing deeper in what it means to be a Christ follower.  Students who are a part of this group learn how to share the gospel and participate in an annual summer mission trip or project.  See what some of them said about the 2018 local missions experiences:

Awana reaches kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Him. Awana equips ministry leaders and parents to reach and disciple kids who impact their generation with the gospel (visit for more info).

Awana Clubs meet on Sundays during the school year. Check-in takes place at Building C in the Fellowship Hall.

  • Prechool and and Elementary School Awana Clubs meet from 4:30-6:15 P.M.:
    • Puggles: 2 years old – requires parental participation
    • Cubbies: 3 & 4 years old – requires parental participation
    • Sparks: Kindergarten – Grade 2
    • Truth & Training (T&T): Grades 3-6
  • Middle School and High School Awana Clubs meet from 6:30-8:45 P.M.:
    • Trek: Grades 6-8
    • Journey: Grades 9-12

Our success is dependent upon you! If you have a child or children in Awana Club, we need and desire your active participation. In our preschool division, one parent is required to serve in Awana. Class sizes are limited. [/expand]

Leaders in Training

For Preteens who want to serve, lead, and grow strong in their faith.  Preteens meet on Wednesday evenings for training to lead in a summer mission project and/or trip. They learn how to share the gospel using the Wordless Book.

Visitor Check In

Visiting and want to quickly check-in your kids? Submit this online form by 4pm Friday, and you can immediately log into one of the check-in stations that Sunday. You may also download this editable PDF (coming soon), print and fill it out, and bring it with you Sunday morning. View the map below for check-in locations, and we look forward to meeting you!


Procedure for Security Child Check in System

  • Locate the touch screen monitor located in hallway of Building C or in Preschool Building B Room PS 5.
  • Screen should display number keys and/or Name log-in options.
  • Enter last 4 digits of any phone number the church has in our data base for you or enter your family’s last name.
  • Your family’s name will appear on the screen.
  • If any family information has changed, the parent must proceed to the guest check-in station located in the hallway of Building C.
  • Check on the touch screen which children are present that day.
  • If you have preschool child/children that will stay for Extended Session, select that option.
  • Push “Finish and Print Badge”.
  • Place badge on child/children’s back. Preschool children will have an extra badge for their diaper bag or backpack. 
  • Each parent will take a security code badge that must be presented to his/her child’s teacher upon picking them up from their classroom.

Once the child/children are checked-in, follow these steps:

  • Preschool children will be taken to their classroom by a parent. Preschool classrooms are downstairs in the C Building and in the B Building.  
  • Kindergarten thru 6th Grade can be released at the bottom of the stairs or taken to class by a parent. All K-6th Grade classes are upstairs in the C Building. 
  • When picking child/children up from their classroom, the parent security badge must be shown to the teacher (and match the child’s name badge) before child/children are taken from classroom.
  • If parent does not have security badge, they must proceed to guest check-in station (downstairs in the C Building) where they will be required to show identification. Once ID is verified, then they can proceed to pick up their child/children from their classroom.

Preteen Camp 2022 – Mt. Lebanon

Join us at Preteen Camp at Mt. Lebanon for an exciting week of Bible studies, worship, recreation, and more! The fun starts when campers arrive and doesn’t stop!  Whether on the ropes course or in the dining hall, Mt. Lebanon makes every part of camp something to remember.  This is a meaningful time in which preteens can experience a time of spiritual growth and a whole lot of fun!

Who?  For completed 4th-6th Grade Students

What?  Bible Studies, Worship, Sports, Swimming, Challenges, and Special Activities.

When?  June 20-24, 2022

Where?  Mt. Lebanon Baptist Encampment, 1701 Texas Plume Road, Cedar Hill, TX   75104 

Cost:  $250.00 (includes $50 Deposit)  Total Due June 12.

  • Completed Kinder – 6th Grade  (Age 6 Before Sept. 1, 2022)


  • Sign up for any or all of the T.K.O. Days you want to participate in for summer fun!

When & Where:

  • Tuesday, June 7—Main Event  10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
  • Tuesday, June 28—FBC Fun Splash Day  10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
  • Tuesday, July 5—Scott Mentzer Pool  10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
  • Tuesday, July 26—Waco Zoo   8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.


  • $15 per child per T.K.O. Register & pay early to reserve your spot! 


  • Space is limited! Register no later than 7 days prior to T.K.O. Day. 
  • Drop off forms at Kid’s Ministry Table in the Worship Center the church office.
