We walk by faith, not by sight.

WALKING BLIND

We walk by faith, not by sight.

(2 Corinthians 5:6-9) We are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord – for we walk by faith, not by sight – yet we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord. Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to be pleasing to Him.

1. New EYES

   A. These eyes are limited in what they can see.

(Ephesians 1:18 NIV) I pray that the EYES OF YOUR HEART may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you.
(2 Corinthians 4:18 HCSB) So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

   B. There is a whole world going on all around us that we can only see with “new” eyes.

(2 Kings 6:16-17) Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed. “Lord, please open his EYES and let him see.” So the Lord opened the servant’s EYES. He looked and saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
(Hebrews 11:1) Faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not SEEN.

2. New STEPS

(Psalm 37:23) A man’s STEPS are established by the Lord, and He takes pleasure in his way. Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, because the Lord holds his hand.
(Proverb 16:9) A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his STEPS.
(Psalm 40:2) He brought me up from a desolate pit, out of the muddy clay, and set my feet on a rock, making my STEPS secure.
(Psalm 119:132-133) Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is Your practice toward those who love Your name. Make my STEPS steady…

   A. When we trust God to guide our steps – one step at a time.
   B. When we trust God to guide our steps – our faith grows.

3. New PATH

   A. There are two paths in life.
   B. There is culture’s path and there’s God’s path.

(Psalm 1:1) How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the PATH OF SINNERS…
(Proverb 3:5-6) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the RIGHT PATHS.”
(Psalm 84:11 NIV) The Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose WALK IS BLAMELESS.”

C. The Lord is going to take us down a new path of faith.
