(Colossians 1:13-14) He (Christ) has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
1. God Has Rescued Us
(13) He has RESCUED us from the domain of darkness…”
A. Before Christ a person lives in darkness.
B. Through Christ a person experiences light.
(John 1:1-9) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it.
(John 8:12) Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”
C. Anyone who follows Him will always have the light of life.
2. God Has Transferred Us
(13) He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and TRANSFERED us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.
A. He doesn’t ask permission to transfer us.
B. He transferred us into Christ’s kingdom.
C. Our transfer has already happened.
D. Now Heaven is just waiting for us.
3. God Has Forgiven Us
A. This is in the heart of every person.
B. Many people seek forgiveness.
(13-14) He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
