Disaster Relief

The Southern Baptist Convention is involved in Disaster Relief ministry. Many State Conventions have a Disaster Relief Organization that works in lock step with SBC and the SBC Mission Organizations, the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board. We partner with the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army in our Disaster Relief ministry.

Our state convention Southern Baptist of Texas (SBTC) has a Full Time DR director, Scottie Stice. Disaster Relief includes many aspects of ministry when teams are deployed: Feeding Teams, Recovery (Chainsaw, Mud-out or Clean-up), Shower, Laundry, Chaplaincy, Assessments, Water & Propane and Childcare. Local Church ministry groups are organized in one or more these ministry areas and stand ready to deploy when a disaster occurs.

First Baptist Pflugerville has over 150 people trained in DR. We own and Operate Feeding and Recovery Trailers. We can are available to respond to local emergencies and disasters as well as to deploy to the larger state and national disasters when we are contacted. We will also at times be asked to send teams to other parts of the World.

If you would like to be part of a Disaster Relief Team, please contact Mike Northen, Associate Pastor at First Pflugerville.
