Passage: Acts 8:25-40

 THINK

Main Point: God is actively at working around us to make disciples of all nations and He invites us to join Him in His work.

 APPLY

Personal Application: We must be sensitive and submissive to the Holy Spirit’s leadership, committed to the mission of God, proclaiming and explaining Jesus as Lord and Savior.

  • We must be sensitive and submissive to the Holy Spirit:
    • What steps can you take to listen to the Holy Spirit?
      • With the Word? In prayer? Trusting?
    • Is the Spirit burdening your heart for someone?
    • What steps can you take to be obedient?
    • How are you praying for sensitivity to the Spirit?
  • We must be committed to God’s mission:
    • What is God actively working for?
    • Based on what you talk about and think about, how committed is your heart to God’s mission?
  • We must proclaim and explain the Good News of Jesus:
    • What parts of the Gospel are challenging for you to understand?
    • How can you grow in your understanding of the Gospel?
    • How can you grow in your ability to share the Gospel?

 PRAY

  • Praise God for who He is: Glorious, Good, and Great!
  • Pray that our trust will grow stronger.
  • Pray that we will be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leadership and direction.
  • Confess any unbelief or weakness of faith.
  • Confess any delay in obedience to the Spirit’s leadership.
  • Pray for God to open doors before us to share the Gospel.
  • Pray that the Holy Spirit’s unity and fellowship would reign mightily among us.
  • Pray and lay your requests and petitions before the LORD with confidence that He knows, He sees, and He acts.
  • Pray that for each other, that we would live full of the Spirit.
  • Pray that the eyes of our heart and faith would be set above, where Jesus is at the right hand of God.
  • Praise the Lord that He is sovereign, and His rule is secure.
  • Pray that God would open doors for us to proclaim the gospel and that He would add to our number.
