Acts: The Church Begins Pt. 29

If we trust in Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, then we will go to whom, to where, and when He calls us to minister to, for His reasons, not ours.

Going When It’s Hard

 READ

Passage: Acts 9:31-43

 THINK

Main Point: God is working to make disciples of all nations, and He sends His people to minister to those in the world.

 APPLY

Personal Application: We must go to Who, When, Why, and How God sends us, even when it is overwhelming.

  • We Go to Who God sends us.
    • Who is God sending you to minister to on a daily basis?
    • Is God putting anyone on your heart to minister to?
  • We Go When God sends us.
    • Are you being sensitive to go and minister when God leads you to, i.e. in prayer, in person, with encouragement, etc.?
  • We Go Why God sends us.
    • Why is it tempting to make ministry about ourselves?
    • How can we take steps to minister for His glory alone?
  • We Go How God sends us.
    • How can you more boldly trust the Lord in ministry?
    • Who or where is God calling you to minister that you have felt overwhelmed and hesitant to step in?
    • What is one tangible step you can make this week to step into the place where God is leading you to go?

 PRAY

  • Praise Jesus that His mission will not be stopped.
  • Pray for hearts to grow hungry to know Jesus in our community.
  • Pray for your enemies and those you know who oppose Jesus.
  • Pray for open doors before us to clearly share the Gospel.
  • Confess any distraction you may be living in.
  • Confess any self-reliance you may be trying to minister in.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit’s strength to empower you as you minister.
  • Pray that the Holy Spirit’s unity and fellowship would reign mightily at FBC.
  • Pray that for each other, that we would live full of the Spirit.
  • Praise the Lord that He is sovereign, and His rule is secure.
  • Confess and entrust yourself and the areas of your life to the Lord.
