The Lord causes my heart to sing. “The Lord is my strength and my SONG; He has become my salvation.”
(Psalms 100:1ff) Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.
The Lord is My – SONG
The Lord causes my heart to sing.
“The Lord is my strength and my SONG; He has become my salvation.”
1. The Lord is My ESCAPING Song
(Exodus 14:5) When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about the people and said: “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.” (9) The Egyptians – all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, his horsemen, and his army – chased after them and caught up with them… (15-16) The Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the Israelites to break camp. As for you, lift up your staff, stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.” (21-22) So the waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with the waters like a wall to them on their right and their left. (26) Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back on the Egyptians, on their chariots and horsemen.” (28) The waters came back and covered the chariots and horsemen, the entire army of Pharaoh, that had gone after them into the sea.
(15:1-2) Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord. They said: I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted; He has thrown the horse and its rider into the sea. THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SONG; HE HAS BECOME MY SALVATION.”
2. The Lord is My FIGHTING Song
(Psalm 118:10) All the nations surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I destroyed them. They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I destroyed them. They surrounded me like bees; they were extinguished like a fire among thorns; in the name of the Lord I destroyed them. You pushed me hard to make me fall, but the Lord helped me. THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SONG; HE HAS BECOME MY SALVATION.
3. The Lord is My RESTORING Song
(Isaiah 12:1-2) On that day you will say: “I will praise You, Lord, although You were angry with me. Your anger has turned away, and You have had compassion on me. Indeed, God is my salvation. I will trust Him and not be afraid. Because Yah, THE LORD, IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SONG, HE HAS BECOME MY SALVATION.”
(5) Sing to the Lord, for He has done glorious things. Let this be known throughout the earth. Cry out and sing…
