To be holy means to be set apart.
Set apart From the world and set apart For God.
A life of holiness chooses not to tolerate sin and seeks repentance when sin is found.
Heb. 12:14. Pursue holiness—without it no one will see the Lord.
Lev. 11:44. For I am Yahweh your God, so you must consecrate yourselves and be holy because I am holy.
1 Thess. 4:3-5 For this is God’s will, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality, so that each of you knows how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not w/lustful desires, like the Gentiles who don’t know God.
1 Pet. 1:14-16 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. But as the One who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.
Rev. 22:11. Let the unrighteous go on in unrighteousness; let the filthy go on being made filthy; let the righteous go on in righteousness; and let the holy go on being made holy.”
Eph 4:22-24 you took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires; you are being renewed in the spirit of your minds; you put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.
Gal. 3:10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written: Everyone who does not continue doing everything written in the book of the law is cursed.
Rom. 6:19 I am using a human analogy because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you offered the parts of yourselves as slaves to moral impurity, and to greater and greater lawlessness, so now offer them as slaves to righteousness, which results in sanctification.
