Good News: Life from Death

Romans 3:21-26
We can ALL receive the greatest gift ever: God’s Righteousness.

God is right to judge every person by his law and we all sin.
God’s law reflected his Righteous nature, and his moral standards reflects his character.

21 But now, apart from the law, God’s righteousness has been revealed—attested by the Law and the Prophets[q] 22 —that is, God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ,[r] to all who believe, since there is no distinction. 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the[s] glory of God.

Mankind’s Situation is bad news, but God’s Solution is GOOD News!

1) God has declared you NOT guilty.
   a) He takes you from being a criminal to becoming a citizen
   b) You now have a RIGHT standing with God
   c) When given this Righteousness, you are also given regeneration.

2) God has Bought your Freedom.
   a) God has purchased your freedom with his son’s life
Exodus 15:13 You will lead the people
You have redeemed, with Your faithful love;
You will guide them to Your holy dwelling with Your strength.
   b) Sin holds us captive, but Christ is our rescue-ransom
Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life—a ransom for many.
   c) You now work for a GOOD master.

3) God has Sacrificed for Mercy.
   a) A loving God MUST do something about Evil
   b) God’s wrath is reserved for the wicked, But Jesus absorbed that for us.
   c) Jesus was the perfect lamb, atoning for ALL our sins
   d) God found a way to forgive us without compromising who he is.
   e) Forgiveness without consequences would mean that evil is inconsequential.
