Navigating Tough Times: “No Fear”

If we were more aware of God’s protections, we would be so afraid.

Navigating Tough Times: “NO FEAR”

If we were more aware of God’s protections, we would be so afraid.

1. God’s Angels Will Protect Us
(2 Kings 6:15-17), When the servant of the man of God got up early and went out, he discovered an army with horses and chariots surrounding the city. So he asked Elisha, “Oh, my master, what are we to do?” Elisha said, “DON’T BE AFRAID, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” Then Eisha prayed, “Lord, please open his eyes and let him see.” So the Lord opened the servant’s eyes. He looked and saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

   A. Angels do not have halos.
   B. Angels do not have wings.
   C. Angels cannot be seen.
   D. Angels always appear as men.
   E. Angels carry out God’s will.
(Isaiah 37:35-36a) “I will defend this city and rescue it, because of Me and because of My servant David.” Then the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians.
(Psalms 34:7) The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them.
(Psalms 91:10-11) No harm will come to you; no plague will come near your tent. For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways.

2. God’s Spirit Will Protect Us
(1 Peter 5:8) Be sober! Be on the alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.
   A. We need protection from Satan.
(1 John 4:4) You are from God, little children, the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
(2 Timothy 1:7) God has not given us a spirit of fear (Holy Spirit), but one of power…
   B. The Holy Spirit is our protection from Satan.
(James 4:7) Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.

3. God’s Presence Will Protect Us
(Isaiah 43:1-3) “DO NOT FEAR, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire and the flame will not burn you. For I (am) the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior…”
   A. God is our Savior.
(Proverb 18:10) The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are protected.
   B. God Himself is our protection.
(Psalm 125:2) Jerusalem – the mountains surround her. And the Lord surrounds His people, both now and forever.
(Psalm 91:4) He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.
(Psalm 23:4) Even though I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff – they comfort me.”
