Background & Context: Acts 6:1-7

Sermon Passage: Acts 6:8-15

 THINK

As Jesus continues His mission and ministry by the Holy Spirit thru His ordinary, everyday people, He is faithful to His promises of grace, power, wisdom, and presence to uphold and vindicate His Witnesses.

 APPLY

Jesus is faithful to His Promise. So, we must walk in the Spirit and minister and witness boldly, even if those we minister and witness to reject or oppose our ministry and message.

  • Jesus’s Promise: Luke 12:11-12; 21:12-15
  • Where do feel nervous about being Christ’s witness? Are you doubting His promise? How can you better focus and trust Jesus at His word as His witness?
  • Are you making choices to walk by the Spirit or by the flesh? Where are you weak to the flesh? How can you, by the grace and power of the Spirit say ’NO’ to the flesh and walk by the Spirit?
  • Where and to whom has God called you to minister? Are you being faithful to do so?
  • Is God opening doors for you to witness to the person and work of Jesus? How can you better step into those moments and proclaim the Truth?
  • Is there any discouragement you feel from how people may not be responding which you need to confess and share with the Lord?

 PRAY

  • Pray and praise God for who He is: the Sovereign Master of all Creation and Time.
  • Pray for God to take note of our present situation and open doors for us to clear speak the Truth to others.
  • Pray for God to fill each of us with the Holy Spirit that we would be bold in declaring the Gospel.
  • Pray that we would fear the Lord and love Him by obeying Him exclusively.
  • Pray that we would be people who are full of the Spirit and wisdom, grace and power.
  • Pray that ministry needs in the body would be known and rightly cared for.
  • Pray that we would walk in the unity and fellowship of the Holy Spirit – seeking to glorify Jesus and do what He says, how He says, wherever and whenever He leads.
  • Pray that those around us would come to saving faith in Jesus Christ.
