God offers real solutions to life’s real problems.
(1 Peter 5:5b-10) All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Humble
yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, because He cares about you. Be
sober! Be on the alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. Resist him, firm in the faith,
knowing that the same sufferings are being experienced by your brothers in the world. Now the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in
Christ Jesus, will personally restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little.
Trade Your Pride – in Exchange for SUCCESS
(6) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you.
God is the only one who can bring success to life.
Our pride is about the biggest problem we have.
Low self-confidence helps us put our ultimate confidence in the Living God.
Trade Your Worries – in Exchange for PEACE
(7) [cast] all your care upon Him, because He cares about you.
(Philippians 4:6-7) Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hears and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Worry – and peace – cannot occupy the heart at the same time.
When I give God my worries – He gives me His peace.
Trade Your Slumber – in Exchange for PROTECTION
(8) Be sober! Be on the alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.
We grossly underestimate the power of Satan.
So pay attention!
If we give God our attention, He’ll give us protection.
Trade Your Impatience – in Exchange for STABILITY
God will RESTORE.
God will ESTABLISH.
God will STRENGTHEN.
God will SUPPORT.
To the one who patiently endures hardship.
