God is Our Refuge

06/27/2021

When things are changing & threatening around you, focus your attention on God.

He is with you (His Presence)
Matt. 28:20 “teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

He is a refuge (His Protection)
Ps.91:2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

He helps you (His Power)
Isa. 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.

1) Your world may be shaken with convulsions

2) BUT He has a river to give you peace

3) You may be in the midst of battles, but He will end the war victoriously

4) “Stop your fighting” means to take your hands off, relax

5) God knows what He is doing, and His timing is perfect.
When you are nervous and fidgety, wanting to interfere w/God’s plans for your life.
Remember these 3 admonitions:

“Be still”
Ps. 46:10 – “Stop your fighting—and know that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.”

“Stand still”
Ex. 14:13 – And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again

“Sit still”
Ruth 3:18 Naomi to Ruth – She replied, “Wait, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out, for the man will not rest but will settle the matter today.”
