Worldview Rumble: The Crescent & Cross Pt. 2

05-13-2026 • Wes Wilkinson

We can rest in the grace of Christ and hold firmly to the truth of who He is.

The Nature of God and Allah

  • Islam teaches that Allah is one being and one person.
  • Christianity teaches that God is one being who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The Trinity is viewed in Islam as polytheism and blasphemy.
  • Scripture presents God as both transcendent and personally near to His people.
  • Islam presents Allah primarily as sovereign judge rather than intimate Father.

Love, Relationship, and the Trinity

  • A triune God has eternally existed in loving fellowship within Himself.
  • God did not create because He was lonely or dependent on creation.
  • Humanity was created out of God’s joy and love.
  • Christians are called sons and daughters of God through Christ.
  • Islam describes people mainly as servants and slaves of Allah.

Revelation and the Authority of Scripture

  • Islam teaches that Allah reveals his will through prophets and the Quran.
  • The Quran is believed to be the final and perfect revelation given to Muhammad.
  • Islam claims the Bible was corrupted over time.
  • Scripture consistently testifies to its own reliability and preservation.
  • Jesus is the final and complete revelation of God, with no later prophet to follow.

Jesus and the Gospel

  • Islam honors Jesus as a prophet but denies that He is God.
  • Islam rejects the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
  • Scripture declares that Jesus died on the cross and rose again.
  • The miracles of Jesus reveal His divine authority and identity.
  • Salvation comes through Christ alone and not through human effort.

Ethics, Judgment, and Grace

  • Islamic ethics are rooted in commands and the example of Muhammad.
  • Right and wrong are determined by Allah’s decrees rather than his revealed character.
  • Christianity teaches that morality flows from the character of God Himself.
  • Islam emphasizes judgment based on deeds and obedience.
  • Christians obey God from love because they have already received grace in Christ.
