Worldview Rumble: The Crescent & Cross Pt. 4

05-27-2026 • Wes Wilkinson

We must live each day in light of the certain return and victory of Christ.

History, Truth, and Competing End Goals

  • Every worldview has a view of where history is headed.
  • Islam teaches that history is moving toward final judgment and a united Islamic world order.
  • This future is viewed as guaranteed by Allah’s will.
  • Christianity teaches that history is moving toward the return of Christ and the new creation.
  • The biblical hope is not man-made utopia but the reign of Jesus.

Jihad, Submission, and the Mission of Islam

  • Islam emphasizes submission to Allah as the central purpose of life and history.
  • Jihad is understood by many Muslims as a spiritual struggle, though some see it as physical conflict.
  • The spread of Islam is connected to the broader goal of pan-Islamic unity.
  • Christianity does not advance through violent conquest or forced conversion.
  • The kingdom of Christ advances through witness, sacrifice, and the gospel.

Truth, Facts, and the Importance of History

  • Christians are called to reject falsehood and speak truth faithfully.
  • Historical facts matter because the gospel is rooted in real events.
  • Modern culture often twists or reshapes history to serve an agenda.
  • Believers should care deeply about accuracy instead of repeating distortions.
  • Archaeology and historical discovery continue to support the reliability of Scripture.

The Resurrection and Biblical Hope

  • The resurrection of Jesus stands at the center of the Christian faith.
  • The empty tomb is presented as a historical reality, not symbolic language.
  • Biblical hope is not wishful thinking about the future.
  • Christian hope is confidence in what God has promised and will accomplish.
  • The return of Christ shapes how believers live in the present.

Living Faithfully While Awaiting Christ’s Return

  • Followers of Jesus are called to live wisely and faithfully in everyday life.
  • The church should engage the world with truth rather than fear or confusion.
  • God opens doors for believers to share the gospel in ordinary places.
  • Life should be lived with eternity in view.
  • Jesus is faithful, true, and actively reigning even now.
